Assignment 3 Grading Criteria
Completeness (3 points)
Reflection paper contains each of the components of the assignment: specification and rationale for
most and least appealing theory or theories, benefits, and challenges of maintaining a single versus
multitheoretical orientation of least appealing theory or theories; which direct practice theory or
theories will potentially guide culturally responsive social work practice and rationale; and how student
plans to use evaluation and research evidence in clinical decision-making with a variety of clients.
Depth and Quality of Analysis (4 points)
Responses about most- and least-favored theories demonstrate understanding of the theories selected
and elaborate sufficiently on ideas to elucidate the student’s thought process. Benefits and challenges of
single versus multitheoretical orientations demonstrate understanding of integrative practices/models.
Formulation of personal theoretical orientation through culturally responsive practice demonstrates
application of concepts from previous courses as well as critically thinking skills in the area of culturally
responsive practices. Information about the student’s plan for future learning reflects consideration of
continued learning needs and next steps.

A professionally presented paper is clear, succinct, and well organized; conforms to the page limit; has
few or no typographical, grammatical, or spelling errors; and uses respectful, person-first language. The
