Proposal Outline:
I.
II.
III.
Introduction
A. Hook: Lack of communication within my job organization.
B. Thesis: The CEO and upper leadership should choose Zoom to communicate
effectively within the company and with our customers because Zoom is available
for use worldwide, Zoom is reasonably priced for enterprise users, and Zoom can
be used to chat, email, or video our customers to meet their needs.
Problem: The problem is that there is a lack of ways to communicate within with
other employees my workplace about customer issues and other pertinent work data.
A. Main Cause(s): The main cause of this problem is the lack of a communication
application to work with within my organization.
1. Evidence: Source: Sutherland and Nelson “Companies and
organizations in all sectors are embracing the game-changing benefits of
the remote workplace. Managers benefit by saving money and resources
and by having access to talent outside their zip codes, while employees
enjoy greater job opportunities, productivity, independence, and worklife satisfaction. But in this new digital arena, companies need a plan for
supporting efficiency and fostering streamlined, engaging teamwork.”
B. Effects of Problem: losing customers, not able to meet with coworkers
virtually(having to setup a physical meeting), and not being able to communicate
with other departments.
1. Evidence: Source: Hoory Digital communication makes 58% of
workers feel like they need to be available more often. Nearly half of
workers report their productivity being affected by ineffective
communication.
Solution: choose Zoom to communicate effectively within the company and with our
customers
A. How Solution Would Work: Zoom should increase productivity, allow us to
meet with customers virtually, and conduct business in other departments with
Zoom as our communication tool.
1. Evidence: Source: Peek The popularity of video conferencing
technology has skyrocketed since the beginning of the COVID-19
pandemic, with Zoom leading the way. Zoom allows teams to meet
virtually through HD video and audio and gives them the ability to
collaborate through screen shares and an in-app group chat. Employees
can connect in any size of meeting, be it a one-on-one chat or a
companywide seminar. The platform offers a free version and scalable
pricing options.
B. Costs and Resources: The costs of Zoom will be around $23,000. We will need
licenses, Zoom Phone, Zoom Contact Center, and Zoom Rooms to host meetings.

Risk
A. Opposing Viewpoint: Zoom may be too difficult to teach or learn.
1. Evidence: Source: Zoom Zoom has many applications and services to
learn from Zoom contact center, to how to use the Zoom video
conferencing itself.
B. Your Response to Opposing Viewpoint: Some people state Zoom is too
complicated of a product to use.
1. Evidence: Source: Giaguinto Many businesses will have a lot of
problems with their first meetings because employees forget to actually
download the app. This can delay or even force the meeting to be
rescheduled as a result. Of course, with proper preparation and
awareness, this can be avoided.
Benefits
A. Supporting Point 1: Zoom is available for use worldwide
1. Evidence: Source: Zoom Zoom is available worldwide, but there are
some restrictions: Zoom Apps: Available worldwide wherever partner
apps are supported Starting or joining meetings: You can start or join a
meeting from any international location Zoom Events: Generally
available worldwide, but whether a user can access Zoom Events is
determined by which country or region the user is located in Zoom
Phone: Available in 40 plus countries and territories, and through bringyour-own-carrier, is also available globally Contact Center: Available in
North America, Canada, United States, Asia-Pacific, Australia, and New
Zealand
B. Supporting Point 2: Zoom is reasonably priced for enterprise users
1. Evidence: Source: Zoom Business plus Zoom is $150.00 per year per
user. For those teams that job function require them to speak to
customers, we can obtain the service for them. For the other users, they
are able to carry a free account. Our total budget for using Zoom would
be $22,500. Compared to $35,000 for other applications.
C. Supporting Point 3: Zoom can be used to chat, email, or video our customers to
meet their needs
1. Evidence: Source: Hoory Google Meet and Zoom ranked highest for
video calls, being used by 40% and 46% of respondents, respectively.
Conclusion
A. Restate Thesis: Upper leadership should choose Zoom to communicate
effectively because Zoom is available worldwide, Zoom is reasonably priced for
enterprise users, and it can be used to chat, video, and email our customers to
meet their needs.
4
B. Call to Action: Our upper leaders and managers should choose Zoom as a
communication application so, that we can meet our customers needs.
Introduction:
Lack of communication can kill the workplace. Lack of communication with your customers,
can kill your customer base. Without communication, how will your business function? How
will you be able to communicate across departments? Our organization is lacking a
communication tool to be able to be able to communicate effectively. The message is simple.
The CEO and upper leadership should choose Zoom to communicate effectively within the
company and with our customers, because Zoom is available for use worldwide, Zoom is
reasonably priced for enterprise users, and Zoom can be used to chat, email, or video our
customers to meet their needs. The CEO and upper leadership should choose Zoom to
communicate effectively within the company and with our customers, because Zoom is available
for use worldwide, Zoom is reasonably priced for enterprise users, and Zoom can be used to
chat, email, or video our customers to meet their needs.
Conclusion:
Upper leadership along with the CEO should choose Zoom to communicate effectively within
the company and with our customers, because Zoom can be used worldwide, Zoom is reasonably
priced, and can be used to chat, email, or video customers to meet their needs. Do you want to
be able to communicate effectively? Then I challenge you to look into Zoom and just sign up.
Sign up and take the first step to using this tool. Let’s communicate effectively and efficiently.
Let’s give our customers the “wow” factor they are looking for.
Appealing to Your Audience:
1) Which audience appeals (logic, credibility, or emotion) have you used the most? Explain
why those appeals would help your specific audience accept one of your supporting points.
Which characteristic or value of your audience is reflected in that supporting point?
My proposal uses the audience appeals logic mostly. The reason why logic is used mostly is
because I want to answer the question, “Why is Zoom the best choice for the organization?”
What is the most logical option out there for the company to use as a way to communicate to the
customers and with each other? This would help my audience accept one of the supporting points
because upper leadership is mostly about money and how much will they have to spend for this
service type of audience. So, being logical helps because you are showing the reasons and the
whys.
5
2) Which audience appeals (logic, credibility, or emotion) do your sources use the most?
Choose one piece of evidence and explain how the use of audience appeals makes it
effective. Which characteristic or value does your audience hold that would make that
evidence compelling to them?
My sources use logic appeals the most. Take for example, Hoory states “Digital communication
makes 58% of workers feel like they need to be available more often. Nearly half of workers
report their productivity being affected by ineffective communication.” The audience appeals
makes it effective because it tells the reasoning for using an application for effective
communication.
Reflecting on Feedback:
1) Describe the feedback you received from your instructor on the Week 3 Assignment.
According to my instructors feedback, I am getting there. She wants me to understand why the
problem is important to the audience so, that I can select the appropriate evidence for my paper. I
have only three credible sources including one from the library. I like that the teacher advised I
can contact her with questions because some of the feedback is overwhelming to me. She does a
great job breaking the feedback down so, I can understand but, I am also glad I can contact her
with questions.
2) Explain how you used the feedback from the Week 3 Assignment to help improve your
writing in the Week 6 Assignment. Describe specific changes you made based on feedback
and how they improved your work.
I used the feedback from Week 3 to improve my writing by following the teachers instructions to
get my sources together and make sure I address a specific problem to appeal to a specific
audience. I had to narrow down my problem because it was too large of a topic to address.
