Description

The Winfisky exhibition originated at Dartmouth College, and they posted the posters online. Please go to their exhibition link, and choose one to write about. The images aren’t as large as in the gallery, but you’ll be able to get a good enough sense for a short writing assignment.write 100-150 words analyzing and describing the image, using the following format: Sentence 1: Begin your essay with your interpretation of the poster’s message and include the artist’s name and the poster’s title – something along the lines of, “Alex Doe’s poster You Will Not Defeat Us provides a compelling vision of resilience…” Sentence 2: Next, give a general overview of what the poster depicts. Something along the lines of, “We see a circle of people clasping hands with their mouths open as if singing…” or “The poster shows a missile casting an ominous shadow on the ground…” Sentences 3, 4, 5 +: Then, describe how the poster’s visual elements support its message. You should think specifically about:the artist’s palette (their choice of colors) Remember that there are lots of shades of a given color. It can be bright, deep, pastel, etc.how the artist draws figures and objects (Are they presented realistically, as silhouettes, in a simplified or cartoonish manner, etc.?)how the different elements (figures, objects, buildings, etc.) of the composition are arrangedYou don’t need specialized artistic vocabulary for this assignment. Just describe what you see in your own words. But please do pay attention to the ways typos and grammatical issues, like overly long sentences, can undercut the ideas you’re trying to convey.
