Introduction
For this assignment, you will expand on why high-quality clinical data is important in the
delivery of healthcare services. Through your readings and research, you have now
identified a variety of reasons clinical data needs to be of the highest quality possible.
Many healthcare organizations are submitting data to meet regulatory requirements and
receive financial rewards. Healthcare organizations are also focused on improving the
quality of patient care and making care more personalized. In order to succeed at
personalized care, the data must be specific and of high quality. There is a big population
health surge in the country and quality patient data is a critical piece of the population
health puzzle. You will dive deeper into the reasons for quality data and uncover even
more reasons in your research. The informaticist role in ensuring high quality data is
being captured is one of his/her key roles in health care. Because the quality of the data
is critical, you will evaluate examples of the importance the quality of the data has on
outcomes and discuss the role the informaticist plays in ensuring high quality data is
captured.
