Supporting the delivery of competent care that is culturally diverse is essential to being able to provide patient centered care. This week I gained more insight on the characteristics of leadership in difficult health related scenarios. I learned more about the importance of promoting collaborative practices and policies that educate staff and broaden cultural competencies in healthcare. I also learned more about the importance of self-awareness and the ability to self-reflect in leadership positions. These qualities in a leader encourages the development of more sound practices, fosters cultural humility, creates a learning environment, and endorses the delivery of holistic care.
