Finalizing C&A and Evaluating Outcomes
Finalizing C&A culminates in the formal documentation of copious amounts of information and a logical
decision process. Because of the complexity and volume of documentation, the administrative overhead
can be significant. Finalization of the process according to standard documentation was reviewed in the
previous week.
This week, the objective is to consolidate that knowledge by reviewing the case within the textbook and
an additional review of the samples in the various appendices. This step is important in preparing
yourself for any C&A activities within the federal government, and it provides valuable insight into other
organizations. The escalation of dependence on all technical systems, information processing, and
communication technologies increases the crucial value of C&A. The advent of robotics, automated
mobility, and the wholesale dependence on technology will imply greater exposure and, therefore, the
importance of C&A activities across all organizations. Globalization also increases the likelihood and
impact of any failure.
Your learning and consolidation of your knowledge for your Signature Assignment will be achieved
through the revision of previous work within the textbook and the additional focus on the last 100 pages
of samples and templates. By transforming the concepts to practical content, you have a set of tools
plus the ability to link it to a practical benefit.
The Signature Assignment extends the preparation to the application of knowledge by requiring rigorous
analysis. SWOT analyses can be a very useful technique in a variety of settings. A SWOT analysis closely
examines the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that are likely, given a situation or a
plan of action. Evaluating the worth of a certification and accreditation program is no exception. Being
able to sufficiently perform this type of analysis is crucial for a professional in this type of industry. The
SWOT analysis allows for a thorough and unbiased examination of the activity that is being studied.
Ensure that any SWOT material is relevant to your specific security topic. Generic SWOT items may not
be valuable.
Be sure to review this week’s resources carefully. You are expected to apply the information from these
resources when you prepare your assignments.

Instructions
Consolidate and synthesize your learning throughout this course. Perform a SWOT (strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analysis detailing the benefit of accreditation and system
security and include a cloud computing component. Consider your own workplace and
diagnose the benefits of data security and accreditation. If this is not feasible, use a
hypothetical workplace that would be applicable to this activity.
In your paper, present the following:
• A detailed examination that is in keeping with what a SWOT analysis entails.
• A determination of whether a recommendation would be made to implement a data
security and accreditation system.
• An explanation of how these findings would be presented to the controlling members
of that organization. Why should these certification and accreditation programs be
pursued?
Length: Provide 10-12 pages of quality content, not including the cover page, title page, and
reference section. Should you add any images or tables to support your work, extend the page
length.
