• Recognize and appreciate the many ways each individual brings “diversity” to the classroom.
• Create a narrative (one page minimum using APA guidelines) by answering the following
• Three things you remember about family traditions in your home (daily or occasion)
• Three attributes you would use to describe yourself in broad terms (such as race or ethnicity)
• Where your parents were born and raised
• The family members who were a part of your daily life
• The places you have lived throughout your lives
• Three qualities they would use to describe yourself as a unique person (appearance, personality,
family background, strengths, skills, hobbies)
• The languages you have been exposed to at home, school, vacations, or at friends’ houses
• The way holidays were/are celebrated in your family
