As an informatics specialist, you must be familiar with the needs analysis and project planning process for evaluating the organization’s needs and selecting systems to fit the requirements. The first step in this process is research and approval.
Using the clinically-focused health IT system that you chose in Week 1, research the system in preparation for proposing it to your director.
Create a 12- to 16-slide proposal presentation, with detailed speaker notes, in which you do the following:
Provide a description of the IT system you selected, as well as specifications for the system.
Describe the tools you will use to test and assess your selected IT system. (Consider cost as a factor when selecting the tools.)
Explain why the health IT system is needed in the organization.
Explain why this particular system fits those needs.
Explain why the organization is ready to make the change.
Explain how the new health IT system will provide value to the organization.
Describe how you would measure the success of the health IT system being implemented.
Cite 3 reputable references to support your proposal (e.g., trade or industry publications, government or agency websites, scholarly works, or other sources of similar quality).
Format your references according to APA guidelines.
