The portfolio is to be created in Google Sites and shared with the Instructor via Gmail. The student-learning portfolio should consist of a minimum of 4 sections including:

a) Home Page

Students should develop a template for their online learning portfolio and design and post a homepage that presents a summary of what social innovation means to you. Students may choose to make their site public or private but must share it with the Instructor via Gmail for ongoing assessment. Students are encouraged to share their learning portfolio with the class in order to share ideas and learn from each other (however this is optional).

Using your choice of text, pictures, videos etc. students should complete a home page that addresses the following:

Post a professional photo (ensure professionally appropriate clothing and activity).
Provide a brief personal introduction (include your name and other relevant roles that you wish to share)
Using your phone, take and post a picture that represents social innovation to you.
Along with the photo, post a brief paragraph outlining how this picture relates to your life and your understanding of social innovation. Be prepared to share and discuss this photo within a small group.
Identify three different definitions for social innovation you have found to be interesting [cited using APA], explaining why chosen. Based on your research, develop your own definition of social innovation, and provide at least 1 example of a social innovation, explaining why you think it is a social innovation.

Change makers and social innovators are inquisitive, open-minded, and resourceful. They have the courage to see and do things differently and are intentional about solving social, cultural, or environmental problems. Founded in 1980, Ashoka builds and cultivates a network of change makers around the world who see themselves as capable of creating large-scale positive change. Mount Royal University is an Ashoka Change maker Campus, and Ashoka Canada is part of the global network that provides programs that support and activate change makers, social entrepreneurs, and agents of change whose systems changing innovations solve deep-rooted social problems.

Part Two:

Thinking about the change-making role, go to the Ashoka Canada website https://ashokacanada.org/

and scroll through the site to see what the organization is all about. Once you have done that, go to the list of Canadian Ashoka Fellows and answer the following questions: https://www.ashoka.org/en-ca/ashoka-fellows

1.After reviewing the list of Canadian Ashoka Fellows, pick one individual you think you would like to learn more about and have dinner with?

i.Provide a summary of the person’s work and accomplishments and why they were nominated as an Ashoka Fellow. Be sure to include a picture or video of your ‘fellow’.

ii.Prepare one social media post for LinkedIn/or other medium – describing the person you would like to have dinner with and why.

What is one change that you have consciously made in your life?
Describe the context in which the change took place.
e.g., when did it happen, where did it take place, what changed, how was the change made, who was involved, why was the change made?
What is the most important thing that you have learned because of making this change?

Changes of all kinds also take place in the world around us – beliefs, values, technology, etc. experience change over time. After reflecting on the world that you see around you, answer the following questions:
