For this week’s discussion board assignment, please complete the following prompts in your initial post and reply to two peers.
Write out 20
Write out 20 “I am…” statements (you should do this as quickly as you can, e.g., set a 1 or 2 minute timer).

After listing these, write up what you notice about the statements, and relate your observations to the content of Chapter 2.
Next, Chapter 3 discusses first impressions and how these tend to arise out of ‘snap judgments.’ Please answer the following in your post:
Do you ever make snap judgments? Tell us how that tends to work. That is, what cues do you use to make these judgments? How accurate are your judgments? (And how do you know?)
If you don’t think that you’ve ever made a snap judgment about someone, ask yourself if you’ve ever made an inference about someone based on the person’s:
clothes? (e.g., wearing all black, leather, bright colors, expensive suit, clothes that are 10 years out of fashion, etc.)
hairstyle?
body piercings?
physical attractiveness?
Also, have others made snap judgments of you? How do you feel when that happens? (If you’re not aware of this happening to you, how do you think you’d feel if it did happen to you?) Finally, see if you can relate the process of making snap judgments to the fundamental attribution error, including the ways that attributions can change over time.
