INT COLLEGE LIBRARY-DAY
Emily, a reserved and studious woman, sits at a table with
her friends, JASON, a witty and adventurous guy; LUCY, a
caring and empathetic girl; and NIKE, a;oyal yet sceptical
friend.
JASON
(leaning over the table))
Hey, guys! Have a look at the
article I foundonline. It is about
the sudden appaearance of a
mysterious carnival in town.
LUCY
(exicitedly)
Oh my gosh! It states that people
are granted their deepest desires
in the carnival, but it exactss a
toll on them.
MIKE
(sceptical)
Come on guys, that is ust an urban
legend.Magic carnivals never exis.
EMILY
(thoughtfully)
Well, I am not sure, But do you
remeber when we were kids?We always
dreamt of finding a magical thing
like this.
JASON
(grinning mischievously)
Well, what do you suggest? Should
we check it out tonight?
EXT.SHROUDED CARNIVAL-NIGHT
The group arrives and finds a dense fogsurrounding the
canival. The atmosphere is frighteningand strangeyet
captivating. The flickering light and a distant laughter
sound add to the mystique.
EMILY
(nervously)
Are we certainly sure about this,
guys?what if it is dangerous?
JASON
(dialogue)
Come on, Em!It is just a
carnival!Where is your sense of
adventure?
LUCY
(cautiously)
But we need to be careful. Remember
the toll they mentioned in the
article?
2.
MIKE
(resolute)
I concur with Lucy. Let us stick
together and still watch each other
for our safety.
They step into a realm that defies sense after passing
through a huge gateway decorated with elaborate sculptures.
The rides are darkened, distorted versions of childhood
experiences.
EXT.FERRIS WHEEL-NIGHT
The grou makesadecision to start with the Ferris wheel,
hoping for a normal semblance in the middle of what is
unusual.
INT. FERRIS WHEEL CART – NIGHT
As they soar, their peasure mixes with anxiety.
EMILY
(whispering)
Do you guys share the feeling, too?
As if we are beingwatched?
JASON
(nervously looking
around)
Yeah. I cannot deprive myself of
this frightening feeling either
LUCY
(looking out the window))
Look! The people down there, they
are different. Their eyes are
unfilled, as though they have lost
something priceless.
MIKE
(gripping onto the
handraill)
We need to get out of this place;
it is befouling our minds.
JASON
(panicking))
How now? A moving Ferris wheel
cannot be easily jumped off!
EMILY
(suddenly determined))
There must be a means, we need to
know where it is.
They scramble, searching the cart to find a way while
sensing they are running out of time.
3.
INT. FERRIS WHEEL CONTROL ROOM – NIGHT
Emily identifies a door that is unlocked at the cart’s back
that takes them to a control room that is dimly lit with
levers and buttons scttered Incoherently.
JASON
(excitedly)
Maybewe can make this thing stop
from here! Let us try everything we
think of very fast!
In the hope of making progress, they desperately push
buttons and pull levers.
CUT TO:
EXT. FERRIS WHEEL – NIGHT
As flames shoot from its mechanical components, the Ferris
wheel abruptlycomes toa stop.
INT. FERRIS WHEEL CART – NIGHT
The group breathes a collective sigh of relief as their
surroundings return to normal.
LUCY
(relieved)
Thank god we made it out of that
shit.
EXT. SHROUDED CARNIVAL – NIGHT
With the Ferris wheel stopped, the group exits the cart and
rushes back towards the carnival grounds. They find
themselves back in the eerie atmosphere of the carnival, but
it now seems even stranger.
MIKE
(looking around)
This place… It’s like a
nightmare. What’s What’s happening
here?
EMILY
(determined)
We need to find a way out of here.
But first, we should try to find
out more about this carnival and
what it does to people.
JASON
(agreed)
Emily’s right. Let’s see if we can
find someone knows whats going on
here.
4.
As they walk deeper intothe carnival, they notice bizzare
and unsettling sights. People with hollow eyes, moving like
zombies, engaged in strange and twisted games.
LUCY
(whispering)
These people… They looklike
they’ve lost their souls. Its like
the carnival drained the life ou of
them.
They approach a concession stand when a peculiar-looking
vendor, MR MALACHI with a twisted grin on his face offers
them a ticket.
MR MALACHI
(sinisterly))
Step right up, folks!Tickets to
your heart’s desire! Whats your
biggest desire?
EMILY
(skeptical)
How do these tickets words, and
what’s the price we have to pay?
MR MALACHI
(chuckling)
Ah, my dear, the price is different
for each wish. It could be a
memory, a talent, or even something
you hold dear. But don’t worry; the
ticket will make it worth your
while.
MIKE
(defensive)
We’re not intereted in your games.
We just want to leave this space in
peace.
MR MALACHI
(raising an eyebrow)
Leave? Oh, but you’ve just arrived.
The carnival has a way of making
you stay.
JASON
(angry)
Enough of this nonsense!We’re
leaving, one way or another.
They turn to talk away, but suddenly, a thick fog rolls in,
enveloping them. When it clears, they find themselves in
adifferent partof the carnival, disoriented and trapped.
5.
LUCY
(frustrated))
How did we end up here? This plae
is like a maze!
EMILY
(determined)
We can’t give in to fear. We have
to find a way out of this
nightmare.
They continue to navigate through the carnival, encountering
more unsettling sights and strange characters, all the while
searching for an exit and trying to uncover the secrets of
the carnival’s magic.
CUT TO:
INT. MYSTERIOUS TENT – NIGHT
The group enters a mysterious tent that seems to call them.
Inside, they discover a crystal ball and fortune teller,
MADAME ZARA, who gazes at them with knowing eyes.
MADAME ZARA
(nods)
Escape is possible but it won’t be
easy. You must confront the heart
of the carnival and uncover its
true source of power.Only then can
you break free.
The group listens intenly, realizing that their journey has
just taken a more dangerous turn.
INT. MYSTERIOUS TENT – NIGHT
MADAME ZARA’swords hang heavy in the air as the group
absorbs the gravity of their situation. They exchange
glances, their determination unwavering.
EMILY
(looking at Madame Zara)
Tell us more, please. What is the
heart of this carnival? Where do we
find it?
MADAME ZARA
(leaning closer)
The heart lies deeper within the
carnival grounds, hidden from the
prying eyes of most. You must follow
the signs, trust your instincts,
and bewares of the tricks it playa
on your mind.
6.
JASON
(gritting his teeth)
We’ve come this far. We’ll do
whatever it takes to break free and
save ourselves.
LUCY
(nodding))
But what if we encounter more of
those lost souls along the way? Can
we help them too?
MAZDA ZARA
(smiling sadly))
You have compassionate hearts, but
not all can be saved. Some are too
far gone. Focus on saving
yourdelves, for that is he only way
to make a difference.
With newfound determination, the group thanks Madame Zara
and leaves the tent, ready to face the challenges ahead.
EXT, SHROUDED CARNIVAL – NIGHT
They navigate through the eerie carnival, following cryptic
signs and strange occurrences. The carnival seems to shift
and change around them, making it incrasingly difficult to
distinguish rality from illusion.
MIKE
(frustrated)
This place is likely a
never-endering nightmare. How are
we supposed to find the heart of
the carnival in all this chaos?
EMILY
(looking at a pecu;iar
symbol)
We need to trust in the signs and
symbols. Madme Zara said they would
guide us.
As they venture deeper into the carnival, they come across a
group of lost souls gathered around a bonfire. These
individuals seem more aware than the others, their eyes with
a mixture of despair and hope
LOST SOUL#1
(whispering))
You seek th heart of the carnival,
don’t you? We can help but you must
helpus in return.
JASON
(eager)
Anything, just tell us how to find
it!
7.
LOST SOUL#2
(looking at Lucy)
We need memories, stolen from us by
the canival. Memories of our loved
ones, our dreams, our past.
LUCY
(determined)
We’ll help you relaim your
memories, but first, guide us to
the heart of this place.
The lost souls lead the group through winding paths and
distorted attractions, sharing their stories along the way.
Each story is a tragic reminder of the toll the carnival
exacts.
EXT. DARK ENTRANCE – NIGHT
They finally arrive at a dark entrance, where an ominous
aura hangs heavy in the air. This is where the heart of the
canival is rumored to reside.
MIKE
(cautious)
Are we ready for this? Whatever
lies beyond could be more
terrifying than anything we’ve
encountered so far.
EMILY
(resolute)
We have to be ready. We’ve come too
far to turn back now.
With a deep breath, they step into the darkness, their fate
uncertain, but their determination unwavering.
INT. HEART OF THE CARNIVAL – NIGHT
The group enters the heart of the carnival, and the
atmosphere becomes even more surreal. The air with an
otherworldly energy, and strange, pulsating lights
illuminate the surroundings. They feel a powerful force
drawing tem further in.
JASON
(astonished)
This place…it’slike something out
of a nightmare.
LUCY
(whispering)
We have to stay focused. Remember
what Madame Zera said. We need to
uncover the true ource of power.
8.
MIKE
(looking good)
But how do we even begin to do that
in this place?
EMILY
(pointing)
Look there, a door.It seems
different from everything else
here. Maybe that’s the way to the
source
They approach the mysterious door, which is adorned with
intricate symbols an seems to shimmer with an unnatural
light.
JASON
(trying the door handle)
It’s locked. Any ideas on how to
open it?
As they ponder their next movea faint, haunting melody fills
the air. It leads them to a shadowy figure in the corner of
the room, playing a melancholic tune on a violin. Its a SAD
CLOWN, his face hidden behind white makeup and a
tear-painted smile.
SAD CLOWN
(singing sofly)
In this carnival of the dreams and
fears,
The heart lies hidden, soaked in
tears.
To pass this door, you must
appease,
The spirits trapped within, with
ease.
EMILY
(realization)
The lost souls we met
earlier…their memories. We must
find a way to release them to open
this door.
LUCY
(determined)
Lets go back and collect those
memories. Its the only way to move
foward.
They retrace their steps through the carnival, finding the
lost souls they encountered earlier. With empathy and
determination, they help each soul reclaim their stolen
memories, one by one.
9.
EXT. BONFIRE CIRCLE – NIGHT
As the last soul regains their memories, a powerful surge of
energy flows through the group. The memories form a key that
unlocks the door to th heart of the carniva.
MIKE
(amazed)
It worked!The door is opening!
The door creaks open, revealing a surreal chamber filled
with swirling mist and a central pedestal. Upon the pedestal
rests a mesmerizing, glowing CRYSTAL ORB, the source of the
carnival’s powe.
EMILY
(whispering)
That’s it, the heart of the
carnival. We have to destroy it
break free.
JASON
(nervous)
But how do we destroy something
like that?
As they approach the crystal orb, they notice a series of
mirrors surrounding it, each reflecting a diferent aspect of
their desires and fears.
LUCY
(realization)
The carnival feeds on our desires
and fears. To destroy it, we must
confront our own inner demons.
MIKE
(stepping foward)
Let’s do it together. We’ve come
this far as a team, and we’ll face
whatever’s inside those mirrors as
a team
With unwvering resolve, they step into the mirrors, each
facing their own personal challenge, fears, and desires. The
carnival’s power tries to manipulae them, but they stand
strong, refusing to be consumed.
INT. MIRROR REALMS – NIGHT
Imside the mirrors, each member of the group confronts their
inner demons:
Emily faces her fear of failure and the pressure to be
perfect
Jason confronts his recklesness and the consequences of his
actions.
10.
Lucy deals with the loss of her empathy and the temptation
of slfishness.
Mike grapples with his skepticism and learns to trst in the
unknown.
They emerge from the mirrors, transormed and stronger than
before, with newfound understanding of themselves and each
other.
EMILY
(determined)
Now that weve faced our inner
demons, lets destroy this crystal
orb and end this nightmare
Together, they channel their collective strength and shatter
the crystal orb, releasing a blinding burst of energy that
engulfs the entire heart of te carnival.
EXT. SHROUDED CARNIVAL – NIGHT
The carnival begins to crumble and fade away, ;ike a mirage
dispersing in the wind. The lost souls regain their
humanity, their eyes filling with life and hope once more.
MIKE
(smiling)
We did it. We broke free.
As the carnival disappears completely, the groups find
themselves back at the entrance, the fog lifting, and the
night returning to normal.
LUCY
(grateful)
I’ll never take life for granted
again.
JASON
(humbled)
We learned the hard way that some
desires come at too high a price.
EMILY
(looking at her friends)
But we also learned the true value
of friendship and facing our fears
together.
They walk away from the carnival grounds, forever changed by
their harrowin experience, but stronger and closer than
ever.
THE END.
