In this week’s assignment, you will critically reflect on the key learning about qualitative analysis and how to present trustworthy research findings. This course took you deeper into the skills and techniques necessary to ensure the appropriate analyses of qualitative data, including integrating relevant theoretical frameworks, verifying the trustworthiness of the study’s findings, and selecting suitable methods to present the analyses and findings.

Now is the time to pull out your research journal once more and refer to your ongoing reflections regarding the material that you have been encountering weekly as you moved through this course. Challenge yourself to probe deeper as you ask yourself questions: Do you notice any common patterns in your thinking? Have your initial assumptions changed in any way? If so, how, and in what ways? Do you have a different understanding of qualitative analysis and the role and responsibilities of the qualitative researcher now than you did at the beginning of the course? If so, what has changed in your thinking? What has caused this change (or changes)?

This assignment can be completed by following these seven guided steps:

Review all the resources provided.
Page through your research journal. What stands out? Is there anything surprising about what you have written? Has any of your thinking changed? If so, how and in what ways? Have any of your thoughts or ideas been confirmed or contradicted?
Next, revisit your assumptions that you made at the beginning of the course (Week 1) and discuss how, if at all, these assumptions remain the same or if they are now different or changed. Explain in sufficient detail.
Reflect on what is implied by researcher-as-instrument and the concept of reflexivity as it pertains to qualitative research.
What do you anticipate might be the key challenges with regard to achieving trustworthy qualitative findings in your proposed study? Explain why.
Discuss what you will be most conscious of as you move forward with analyzing and interpreting your study’s data. To address this:
Explain 2-3 things you will remember to do as you analyze the data and present the study’s findings.
Explain 2-3 things you will remember not to do as you analyze the data and present the study’s findings.

7. Conclude your reflective piece by commenting on the following: What do you see as the key value of reflexivity in qualitative research? You may offer any insights that you have gained in this course.

Length: This week you are offered some flexibility with regard to the way you can present your work. This assignment can be a 4- to 6-page narrative; 6- to 8-slide PowerPoint that addresses all the assignments prompts, and includes applicable speaker notes (brief paragraphs or bulleted list); or 7- to 10-minute video. Note: You will create your video presentation by using a video capturing tool located in NCUOne. To access the video capturing tool, follow the tutorial found in your Books and Resources for this Week.

References: At least 4 scholarly resources.

Your presentation should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
