Description
After viewing the video before this page reflect on what you have been reading and discussing about this week.
For children with and without disabilities, there are many factors that influence a child’s development. With so much development happening, it’s critical to start assessing key areas of development in the early years, even before a child starts school. Educators, childcare providers, and parents should all work together to build a child’s developmental story, identify potential issues, and mitigate the impact of stressors in a young child’s life to support development.
Purpose
The purpose of the reflective journal is for you to take time to practice your observation skills that is an essential part of caring and planning for infants and toddlers.
Expectation
These journal entries should be at least 1 paragraph in length (10 or more sentences). You will be graded on the depth of your responses to each question. There is no right or wrong answer. Just your personal thoughts. I will provide feedback sometimes in the form of questions that may ask you to dig deeper. T
Reflective Prompt
After watching the video in the previous page in this module I want you to document your observations of the child’s development and start a document that begins to show the story of the child’s developmental story. Remember to touch on all three developmental domains (physical, cognitive, and psychosocial).
