For this assignment include an introduction that sets the stage for the reflection, thoroughly address the 6F questions below and then write a conclusion that summarizes the key takeaways you gleaned from this activity.

Choose a manager or firefighter part to focus on, consider the following 6F questions and document the process:

FIND THE PART & FOCUS ON IT: Take some deep breaths and direct your attention inwards. What area of your body do you feel the part? Where do you notice any tension or discomfort? What sensations do you feel in your body? What thoughts, words or images come to mind (Hint: These can be used for your illustration.)
FLESH IT OUT: Can you see it? (If yes, how does it look? If no, how do you experience it?) What else do you notice about this part? How far do you feel from it? How old does this part feel? What other thoughts or emotions are emerging as you explore it further?
FEEL: How do you feel towards this part? Check for the presence of self energy in the 8 C’s (Calm, Curious, Compassionate, Creative, Confident, Connected, Clear, Courageous)
If there are more negative or other feelings than the 8C’s this suggests there is another part present.
Ask the second part if they are willing to relax while you speak to the target part.
If they agree, how do you feel towards the target part now?
If they do not agree, ask that part what it needs for you to know. Stay with that part until you have permission to speak to the target part.
In the alternative, you may choose to focus on that second part instead of the original part that came to mind. Reactive parts need to feel heard and validated.
BEFRIEND: Find out more about this part and develop a friendly relationship. View this part as having its own voice. What would it like you to know? What is its role in your life? What is its purpose? How did it get that job? What would it rather do? How old is it?
FEAR: What does this part fear? What does it want for you? What would happen if it stopped engaging its purpose? What other fears or concerns arise as you explore this part?
