You are doing a reading journal to systematically organize the knowledge you are gaining from research and to start to develop your thinking for your own research project

Your reading journal should clearly explain what you have been reading, what current issues and trends related to the topic you are interested in learning more about, and what research questions you are developing

Your reading journal needs to have the following content (300 words or less for each source):

i.

2 popular media sources and 4 academic journal articles—all published in 2023/2024

ii.

APA references for all 6 sources

iii.

A brief annotation under each APA reference that includes the following information

1.

The situation the article is responding to (what is the problem or issue)?

2.

The main argument of the article (what does the author discover or argue in their thesis or overall main point)?

3.

What method was used to generate this article (what steps did the author do or what study did the author design to do the research)?

4.

How has this researched helped you better understand the topic you want to research? (this last question is an analytical question that should reflect complex thinking and critical thought—to do this, you will need to compare and contrast ideas across each source)

While you will only be including 6 references in your reading journal, you should track and save all articles you read and annotate. You will be turning in a record of this with the reading journal. The reading journal should include the most relevant articles to you, but you will only discover them by reading multiple articles….both media and academic.

The topic is about about anti-black racism in China, it’s not specific yet. I already have 5 sources and lack of 1 academic source. Please find the other source that’s related to the broad topic I have here.
