Quality Final Assessment: Outline and Rubric
Purpose of this Assessment
The purpose of this assessment is to give you an opportunity to evaluate the quality of a process of
product you have experienced.
Items Required for Submission
To complete this assessment, you are to write a four (4) – six (6) page paper where you evaluate the
process associated with a product or a process you are familiar with. This paper requires you to identify
the standards that are used, knowledge of the product’s development or the process, an ability to apply
a quality method and the ability to speculate on what can be done to improve upon what is.
1.
4-6 page research paper (APA format)
2.
5 -10 slide recommendation based Voice Over PowerPoint
Step ONE: Identify your process or product
You must first identify the product or service that you have adequate knowledge of. Once this product
has been identified, you need to provide sufficient content so your reader understands the product or
process, what it was selected, and how it works. This foundational section is very important to the
development of this assessment.
Step TWO: Identify standards and select a quality method
Next, you must identify and discuss the quality standards that are being applied to this product, service,
or process. This will depend heavily on the perspective that you choose to approach the project. If you
choose to focus on the product from the end user’s perspective, this will likely mean you have to know

what the expectations are of the end user in order to determine whether the product, service, or
process meets the standards. Whatever you choose, just be sure to disclose the standards. Then apply a
quality method (Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, etc.) to help ensure quality exists for this process, product, or
service. This element will require you to apply a quality approach that may not be what is actually used
and that is play. The goal is to ensure you are able to apply and implement one of the quality frameworks
that make sense.
Step THREE: Complete the Voice Over Powerpoint
It is possible that you have come to the conclusion that the process, product, or service is of quality.
However, there is very little that cannot be approved upon. In this Voice Over PowerPoint, you are to
complete a 5 – 10 slide presentation where you identify opportunities for improvements. Be sure to
discuss the benefits of the recommended changes.
Step FOUR: Complete Checklist for Submission
Before you submit your work, check to see if you have met the criteria noted below. Did you:

Find scholarly sources specific to quality methods, standards, and process improvement?
Identify and provide sufficient context for your product, service, or process?
Apply a standard and quality method?
Complete a Voice Over PowerPoint that is specific to improvement recommendations of the
process?
Discuss the expected benefits of the applied recommendations?
Read the rubric and ensure you met each criteria at the proficient or higher level?
Apply APA guidelines to include the use of headings?
Edit your paper?
Step FIVE: Submit Your Work

Your completed files should be submitted through the Final Assessment page of your competency.

Please note, for files smaller than 10MB (e.g., most Word documents), use the corresponding
“+UPLOAD STUDENT FILE” button to upload your Final Assessment documents. For larger files of
any type (e.g., voice over PowerPoint files, video presentations), please use the optional TEXT
EDITOR to provide a URL where your tutorial faculty can download your file.

How you create a download URL is up to you, but various free online providers, including Google
Drive and Dropbox, offer this service. Please make sure that the URL you provide can be accessed
by anyone with the link. For further instructions on how to create public links for uploaded files,
consult the support pages for your chosen provider.
