The primary goal of paper 2 is to find a way to reduce the social problem you selected through a community-based intervention. You need a total of 5 (or more) peer-reviewed sources. At least one of these sources should be about a prevention or intervention already in existence. You are permitted to use the 3 sources you used in Paper 1, but you will need at least 2 more sources. You can also change your social problem, but it will be more efficient to use the same topic.

Your sources must be paraphrased and integrated into the paper and cited in APA style. The papers are expected to be approximately 4-6 pages in length, although paper length will vary by student. It’s much more important that you meet the requirements of the assignments than meet a specific page requirement.

Paper 2 should have the following sections:

1) Introduction section

The main reason you write the Introduction section is to explain to the reader what is known in your selected area.

a) Social problem. You should use peer-reviewed articles to explain important concepts related to your social problem.

b) Existing interventions. You should have at least one peer-reviewed article describing an existing intervention related to your social problem. Your explanation of the intervention should be critical; meaning that you offer reasons that the intervention is incomplete, has not been performed in your population, etc.

2) Rationale for your study and the study’s hypothesis/hypotheses

a) The rationale of the study summarizes the issues you summarized in the Introduction section and affirms to the reader why you have justification to do this study. “The purpose of this study is to….”

This section should also provide an explanation of why you think your intervention will have an impact on the social problem you selected.

b) “It is hypothesized that participants in _______ intervention will have significantly different _____________ scores than participants in the control condition.”

3) Method section

a) Participants: Explain who was in the study.

b) Procedure: Explain how the study was carried out.

c) Intervention: This is the section in which you describe, in detail, your intervention.

d) Measures: Provide measures that could assess the variables that should be affected by your intervention. For instance, an intervention might be expected to reduce symptoms of depression in participants. The student could use the Beck Depression Inventory to measure symptoms of depression. The measure should be cited in APA style. The APA manual describes how to do this in detail.

4) References

All students should have a References page formatted in APA style. All sources cited within the paper should be listed on the References page.

My topic is in the paper 2 worksheet. I need a sample paper not a sample of the worksheet. Please follow the rubric and use the worksheet as somewhat of an outline.

Domestic Violence and Abuse
1. Which social problem will you write about? Summarize the issue. 2 points
I will address and write about the social problem of domestic violence and abuse,
a prevalent problem affecting people and families globally. Abuse that takes place in an
intimate relationship between individuals is considered domestic violence. This may
include sexual abuse, financial exploitation, emotional manipulation, and physical
violence. Beyond the immediate physical harm, the effects of domestic violence may
include long-term psychological trauma, challenging economic situations, and negative
impacts on children who witness the abuse. The high occurrence of domestic violence
shows the need for comprehensive interventions to address the root causes, provide
assistance and protection for victims, and ensure offenders are held responsible.
2. Find at least one (1) article with a similar intervention. This should ideally be some
kind of process or outcome evaluation study. Provide the reference and a summary
of that article. 5 points.
One article with a similar intervention, “Intimate partner violence: A loop of
abuse, depression, and victimization,” by Mazza et al. (2021), addresses the major public
health concern of intimate partner violence (IPV). It examines how being exposed to IPV
may worsen mental health issues and make people more vulnerable to violence in the
future, continuing a cycle of victimization. The review highlights how IPV affects
children, how teenage or teen dating violence affects them, and how the COVID-19
pandemic escalated violence against women. It advocates multicomponent intervention
programs that use research, healthcare settings, and other factors to create ways to reduce
violence while providing victims with tailored interventions. In the struggle against all
types of violence, the article emphasizes the significance of preventative strategies that
center on the healthy development of children and adolescents.
3. a) Who will be in your intervention? 1 point
The intervention will focus on those who have been abused physically,
emotionally, or sexually by their intimate relationships. This includes children, men, and
women who have been victims of domestic violence or IPV.
b) Give at least one reason why this group will be targeted by your intervention and
provide a citation for that reason. 1 point
This particular group is being targeted because IPV is a major public health
concern that affects more than 30% of American women and is the primary cause of
women’s homicide deaths (Mazza et al., 2021). Victims of IPV also experience several
other negative outcomes that contribute to a cycle of abuse and victimization, such as
anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
4. a) Explain what the intervention will be. 2 points
The intervention will be a comprehensive support program that includes social
services, psychological counseling, and legal assistance to provide a comprehensive
approach to address the needs of victims of domestic violence and abuse.
b) In at least a few sentences, explain why you want to do this type of intervention. 2
points
This intervention was chosen for its acknowledgment of the challenges
experienced by victims of domestic abuse, including legal, emotional, and financial
concerns. The intervention aims to end the cycle of abuse, help victims in their healing
process, and give them back control of their lives by providing a coordinated and
integrated support system. The findings of Mazza et al. (2021), who emphasize the need
for tailored interventions for effectively addressing the underlying causes and impacts of
IPV or domestic violence and abuse, provide support for the need for such intervention
programs.
5. Where will your intervention take place? 1 point
The intervention will take place in a community health facility that the target
group can readily access. Victims may obtain comprehensive care in a private, unbiased,
and safe environment in this setting. Choosing a community health center also makes it
simpler for victims to get the different support they may need by integrating medical
services with psychological and legal assistance.
6. What kinds of outcomes will be affected by your intervention? 1 point
The intervention will lead to improvements in mental health conditions, resulting
in lowered signs of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder in victims of
domestic violence and abuse. The intervention also aims to improve victims’ safety and
well-being by offering social services and legal assistance that may allow them to leave
abusive environments. Additional expected outcomes include raising awareness of IPV,
domestic violence, and abuse, expanding access to resources, and enhancing overall life
satisfaction.
