Question # 2

For this discussion, share your thoughts about the feasibility of the proposed development provided in this unit’s enrichment activity. Do you think the proposal is feasible? How could the developer adapt his plan to mitigate any risks?

Question # 3

Download the document below and complete the questions included.

2. Mark allocation
The question is worth 15 marks. However, you will only receive a final percentage mark and
will not be given an individual mark. Use the rubric to see how marks will be allocated.
3. Question
In this unit’s video with Sean Godoy, you were introduced to the important stages of the
development process. You were also given an infographic which expanded on the initial
planning stage. The infographic investigated how to determine a developer’s objectives, what
to consider when conducting a site inspection, what research must be conducted when
performing a market study and what elements are included in a feasibility study.
Keeping this in mind, for this online activity submission you will need to use the content
covered in this unit and Module 2 (which also covered the importance of conducting a market
study), as well as conduct your own research into how a market study is performed. Using this
information, apply the theory to the ongoing project by carrying out a basic market study on
the property you have chosen. To prompt your research and response, refer to section 8 on a
market study in the Module 2, Unit 1 notes and consider the following:

What are the current macro-economic conditions?

What are the regional and neighbourhood factors at play?

What is the current supply in the market (i.e. competition)?

What gap in the market will this development fill?

What demand is there in the market (i.e. types of property the community needs)?
