In this project, you will modify a presentation for the Top’t Corn popcorn company. You will
change the look of the entire presentation by applying a theme and theme variant and creating a
custom background for all the slides in the presentation. You will add content to the presentation
including text (in Normal view and Outline view), stock images, an icon, a table of information, a
chart, and a SmartArt diagram. You will add a transition to all the slides in the presentation as
well as animate objects on a slide. You will add information to the footer area of the slides as well
as a note to a slide. Finally, you will practice running the presentation, and print handouts for your
audience.

IMPORTANT: Download the resource file needed for this project from the Resources link.
Steps to complete this project:
Mark the steps as checked when you complete them.
1.
Open the start file PP2021-Capstone-Level3. If the document opens in Protected View,
click the Enable Editing button in the Message Bar at the top of the document so you can
modify it.
2.
The file will be renamed automatically to include your name. Change the project file name if
directed to do so by your instructor, and save it.
3.
Change the presentation theme to Badge.
4.
Change the variant to use the gold and white option (the first option in
the Variants gallery).
5. Change the background of a slide in the presentation.
a.
Verify you are on Slide 1 of the presentation
b.
Display the Format Background task pane.
c.
d.
Select the Pattern fill radio button.
Select the Large Confetti pattern for the background. It is the last option in the fifth row
under Pattern.
e. Apply the background to the title slide only.
f.
Close the Format Background task pane.

On Slide 1, click in the subtitle placeholder and type the text

On Slide 1, insert the toptCornLogo image from the location where you saved the data
files for this project. (Downloaded from the Resources link.)

Change the size of the logo to be 2.25″ in height by 3.39″ in width.
Move the logo to the upper right corner of the slide, so it looks like the figure below.

Insert a new slide after Slide 3 using the Title and Content layout. Add the text

Process diagram. Hint: Select the Process category and look for this diagram.

Apply the Polished style to the SmartArt diagram. It is the first option in the 3D section of
the gallery.

16. Switch back to Normal view and navigate to Slide 5. Modify the slide by doing the following:

Left align the bulleted list on the slide.
Convert the bulleted list to a numbered list using the 1), 2), 3) format.

Change the line spacing of the numbered list to 2.0.

Add a Star: 5 Points shape (it is located in the Stars and Banners section of
the Shapes gallery) to the right of the slide’s title.

Add WordArt to the slide using the Fill: White; Outline Gold, Accent color 1; Glow:
Gold, Accent color 1 style (it is the fourth option in the second row of the WordArt
gallery). Replace the text Your text here with a

Move the WordArt object so it appears centered in the star shape you just added. If
necessary, resize the shape so the WordArt fits inside it.

Navigate to Slide 9 and change the layout of the slide to the Title and Content layout.

Be sure to delete the empty row of sample data in the Chart in Microsoft PowerPoint
dialog.
Navigate to Slide 2. Add a stock image to the content placeholder on the right side of the
slide. Use the search word
popcorn and insert a picture of your choice.

Apply the Drop Shadow Rectangle picture style to the online picture you inserted.

Navigate to Slide 3 and select the two pictures. Align the two pictures along the bottom (be
sure to align the pictures relative to each other and not the slide).

On Slide 3, add an icon of your choice using the search word

Move the icon so it appears to the right of the slide title.

Apply the Colored Fill – Accent 1, No Outline Quick Style to the icon. It is the second
option in the second row of the gallery.

Navigate to Slide 1 and add the Wipe transition to the slide. Change the effect options of
the transition From Left. Apply the transition to all the slides in the presentation.
29. Animate objects on a slide.

Navigate to Slide 8 and select the food truck image on the left. Apply the Zoom
(Entrance) animation to the picture and change the effect options so the object is
animated in from the center of the slide.

Select the second truck on the slide. Apply the Zoom (Entrance) animation to the
picture and change the effect options so the object is animated from the center of the
slide.
c.
Change the duration of both animations to 1.25 seconds.
d.
e.
Change the Start option so the second truck will animate at the same time the previous
animation plays.
Preview the animations to verify the trucks animate at the same time.
30. Add information to the footer of all slides.

Navigate to Slide 1, and open the Header and Footer dialog.

Add the date and time to the slide footer and have it update automatically.

Start the slide show from the beginning and navigate through the presentation. Use a
combination of keyboard and mouse commands to navigate to different slides.
34. Print handouts of the presentation.

Change the printing options so three slides with lines to the right appear on each page.

Print the handouts. Note: If you are using this in class or in your school’s computer lab,
check with your instructor about printing permissions before completing this step.
Note: When you are finished with this project, your presentation should contain 11 slides. If it
does not, your project will not grade properly and you may lose a significant number of points.
Check your work carefully.
