Developmental Milestones – movement/physical
Go to this website https://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/actearly/milestones/milestones-in-action.html
This is an excellent website that shows typical development for each age group. It is crucial for
parents, caregivers and educators to be aware of typical development for each age so that
abnormalities can be detected early. If a child is not meeting several of the milestones for their
age, it is important to speak with a doctor about those concerns. Early intervention can be key
for children to reach their full potential.
Click on each age group. Then, be sure to choose the “movement/physical development”
tab each time that you go to a new age group.
Each age group will show a picture or video of each movement/physical milestone
characteristic (watch each one for an excellent example). You can choose the age groups on
the left side of the page.
Fill in the developmental milestone for movement/physical for each age group. I filled in the
first one for you.
