MIS-3330 Northwind Exercise
Utilizing the Northwind database (provided), address the following issues for the Northwind. You will
need to use Excel as well to complete the analysis. In addition to the database, you should provide the
spreadsheet showing the analysis done, and written report (word processer file) on your findings.
Graphs and/or summary tables are needed for your report.
Each graph or table should be supported with explanatory paragraphs.
Issues to be researched:
i.
Top 10 Customers – ranked by the value of their purchases form the company
ii.
“Top 10” and “Bottom 10” products based on the value of their sales
iii.
Top 10 Suppliers – ranked by the value of their supplies/sales form the company
iv.
Find the Amount of business/sales being done with supplier nations
v.
Find the Amount of sales being made each national market (recall customers have a country of
residence)
a. Find/show the top 10
vi.
Sales by Category (categories include beverages, seafood, etc.; total of eight categories)
vii.
One interesting insight (not on my list).
