Now that you have installed the solar panels, electricity consumption from the
grid has decreased. However, for this year, emissions from purchasing (Scope 3)
have increased due to the embodied carbon of the solar panels. From next year
onwards, the embodied carbon will no longer be counted in your Scope 3
emissions. The new panels are already attracting attention from potential
customers.
•
Purchasing organic cotton is helping to reduce your carbon footprint from
purchasing and guests are sleeping with a better conscience as a result.
•
Most guests are appreciating the move to paperless. This decision is helping the
hotel save money and cut emissions.

Year 5: Feedback on Decisions
•
The new revolving doors are helping to cut electricity consumption and also
makes the hotel look grander.
•
Outsourcing laundry has been an important decision. Given the green
credentials of the laundry services provider, the hotel is avoiding a large amount
of emissions. Thanks to the Sustainability Officer for identifying and evaluating
this initiative!

Recycling electronics waste is reducing the waste from the hotel by 8% at no

behavior by staff or guests can now be identified and corrected.

Ecofriendly cleaning materials are better for the environment and safer for
guests. They are having only a small impact on carbon emissions.
•
Customers are happy that they can no longer see plastic bottles in the hotel.
Phasing them out has resulted in small reductions in emissions from waste and
