Description
i have attached the rubric how she grade it.
Prompt:
The spirit of this assignment is for you to think creatively as you view leadership in the world around you. Your first task is to take original photos of at least three examples of leadership Important: The images you use must be original photographs that you have taken yourself (not downloaded from Google Images, etc.). The images can be of anything that reminds you of the leadership principles we have covered in this course and/or the Northouse (2022) text. If you would like to take pictures of leaders that you know, that is fine. If you would like to take pictures of something else that reminds you of leadership, that is fine too. Students have taken pictures of people in a workplace, of family members, of places where they learned valuable lessons, of statues, artwork, and even insects in a garden, as well as many other objects that reminded them of leadership ideas covered in this course. There is no specific requirement for the type of images I am looking for. The pictures will be different for each student. Your next task is to submit these three images along with an academicallty supported explanation of how/why each image depicts leadership (i.e., specifically which leadership concept(s) and an explanation of how/why it represents that concept). Submit your final product in a format of your choice — This can be a Word document, a slideshow, a video, or another type of creative expression that includes your three images and supported explanation. Many students simply take three pictures of something or someone in the world around them that reminds them of leadership principles, include it in an MSWord document, and include a short 1-2 page description of the images in context with leadership. This is fine. However, you are not limited to that. I welcome creativity! That said, do not be overwhelmed by the options.
The assignment does include a rubric (see below) to guide you, particularly for the written portion. However, you will notice that it has very few “strict” guidelines for the format of your final project. This is because I really want each student to take a creative approach. I encourage you to complete this assignment in the way that makes the most sense to you. Some students may want to submit images with a separate paper describing the images, some students may want to include the images and written explanation in the same paper, and others may want to include both the images and the written portion in a PowerPoint or Prezi. I have also had students make a short video with voiceover narration. It’s really up to you. There are very few “rules” that you will need to follow for the final format. (Yes, I know this is unusual!). However, do not overlook these important keys to the assignment:
(A) Images: Three original images that depict leadership/leadership concepts and
(B) Critical Thinking/Summary: a thoughtfully written explanation (with citations) for each image that explains the how/why/what in regard to leadership/leadership concepts each image represents
(C) Critical Thinking/Resources: the written explanation is enriched with cited sources and demonstrates critical thinking/understanding of course concepts.
Deadline: This assignment is due by 23:59 on Sunday, March 17, 2024.
In Summary:
Images: Students portray at least three original images (i.e., photos YOU have taken yourself) of leadership through a creative expression including, but not limited to:
Three (3) Photograph(s) (creatively displayed in electronic form)
Video presentation in streaming format (i.e., uploaded to YouTube and link provided)
Prezi or PowerPoint
Website or blog development
Other creative format: must be approved in advance by the course instructor
Written Explanation: The equivalent of the 2-3 page written portion of this assignment (whether in a document, video, slideshow, etc.) must also be included to explain and provide support for your knowledge of leadership.
Instructions:
Take at least three (3) original photos of someone or something that embodies the leadership principles and theories covered in this course.
Write an explanation of how each of the images relates to leadership/leadership concepts.
Be sure to mention and cite any supportive research such as theories, authors, models, etc. in your written explanation.
Length: Approximately 2 pages double spaced if writing in MSWord; approx.. 300 – 400 words
Submit the file(s) via this Canvas assignment link — including any electronic files that contain your images.
Special note: most electronic forms of design allow you to place both images and text in the file (including MS Word, Prezi, PowerPoint, Web / Blog, etc.) If you are able to include both the photos and written summary for each image in one design product, it is not necessary to write a separate paper for your written explanation of each image; instead, place your text within your design. (e.g., slide with an image and written summary or separate slides for each image and associated written summary). However, to assess the length of your written explanations, it is helpful to draft your written explanations in MS Word before adding the content to the slideshow/presentation.
References: Cite supportive sources in APA as in-text citations within the written summary for each image and list cited sources on an APA formatted References page or slide at the end of your paper or design.
If submitting in MSWord: Double-spaced; 12 pt. Times New Roman font; If PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi, or other creative digital format, choose a font/font size and color for your design that can be easily read.
