How have Americans been socialized to accept gun violence?

Do you think global and military violence leads to increased levels of individual violent acts?

Since the Columbine shootings there have been more than approx. 250 school shootings (not including colleges/university, church, malls, etc.). Why haven’t there been any comprehensive federal gun control laws passed?*

The Federal Gov’t did pass a law in 2005 prohibiting victims of gun violence from suing gun manufacture.

What laws would you enact to protect US citizens from gun violence?

*The 2nd Amendment refers to the right of states to keep a well-armed militia and provides no limits for legislation on restrictions by State govt and only prevents federal law makers from banning guns outright. We have always acknowledged restrictions and limits to weapons that threaten the public such as automatic weapons, armor piercing bullets, rocket launchers, plutonium, etc.
