Assignment one
-Prior to the clinical field experience, review the requirements of all clinical field experiences for this course. Create a document to share with your mentor detailing these requirements and what is being requested of the mentors. This document should include the scheduling required to complete all assignments.
Allocate at least 6 hours in the field to support this field experience.
Well-thought-out classroom designs allow for student exploration and for teachers to effectively respond to student needs. Students’ social-emotional learning can thrive in classrooms that provide ample opportunities for engagement, along with a well-thought-out classroom arrangement that meets the developmental needs of all students.
Observe the physical arrangement of your mentor teacher’s classroom and the role it plays in classroom management. With guidance from your mentor teacher, observe one additional birth-Grade 3 classroom. Consider observing in another grade level different from that of your field experience setting. Following your observations, interview the teacher in each classroom about their classroom layout and design. Include the following questions in your interviews:
How did you design your classroom to ensure it is developmentally appropriate and easily accessible for all students?
What did you feel was important to consider when creating your classroom layout to create a positive and inclusive learning environment?
How does the physical classroom layout support the inclusion of all students? What challenges did you encounter when incorporating an inclusive learning environment?
Use any remaining field experience hours to assist the mentor teacher in providing instruction and support to the class.
In 250-500 words, reflect on your two observations and interviews and summarize your interview with each teacher and other classroom participants. Include the following in your reflection:
Describe each layout and how they differ to meet the needs of the intended age groups.
Summarize your interview with each teacher.
Explain any changes you would recommend for the classrooms observed to make them more developmentally appropriate and accessible for all students based on your research.
Describe how you would apply this in your future professional practice to create a developmentally appropriate and accessible classroom.
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

Select an age/grade level (preschool-3) to focus on and in 500-750 words, create a rough draft of a classroom management plan that would be appropriate for the selected age/grade. You may use previous assignments to help compile the information needed for each section. Include the following sections in your classroom management plan:
Classroom Management Models: Based on your research into classroom management models, explain the model or models that will inform your classroom management planning.
Classroom Design: Describe the elements you will use to create an inclusive classroom layout that is developmentally appropriate for the age/grade you intend to teach.
