Description
Assignment 1: Drug Report
Purpose
In this assignment, you will be researching a medication and communicating your findings as you would to your professor, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
Directions
Develop a report about one prescription drug (not over the counter) by selecting a drug that is associated with this module (chapters 31 – 32). If you have questions, please ask for clarification.
Write your report as a pharmacology student would to present to their professor or a healthcare professional would report to a colleague. Healthcare professionals use different vocabulary than their patients (for example, instead of writing, “it is a blood thinner” you will write, “it is an anticoagulant”).
Each report should follow the Report Template (see below).
The report should be typed. Each page of the report should include the student’s name and the date.
The report should be typed in a word processor, preferably MS Word, 12-point Arial font, with a maximum of one inch margins top, bottom, right & left. If you do not have MS Word, save your report as a Rich Text File (rtf ) by using the “Save As” feature and the “Save As Type” drop-down box near where the file name is located (usually at the bottom of the screen).
Name the file with your last name then first name (example: DooleySam).
Reports must include a citations for the drug reference(s) used. At least two references to compare information.
NOTE: References must be appropriate academic references such as a pharmacology text, or an online drug source such as NIH – DAILYMEDLinks to an external site. (highly recommended). Open sites such as Wikipedia are not appropriate for academic references.
