DISCUSSION REPLIES NUMBER 2 WRTG 112

Description

1. To be frank, I struggle to get to the point. In long-form writing, I tend to let myself get carried away with idioms and run-on sentences since I spent years needing to do so to fill a quota academically. As a result, my writing is filled with several sets of punctuation like commas and semicolons to continuously add to my stream-of-consciousness writing process. This results in a fairly long editing process when I near the end of a report. Largely, I think this can be remedied by improving the brainstorming process by jogging a few ideas down before-hand as to not get carried away mid-sentence.2. I struggle with making my sentences last too long. I try to get my point across in the least number of words as possible, but my feedback from whoever is revising my work, is that I have too many run-on sentences. Along with run-on sentences, I sometimes abuse the use of commas. I learned in elementary school that whenever you want to use or see a comma, you should take a natural pause in the sentence or speech. Maybe I pause too often or not often enough. I will try to be better at placing commas where they belong with the help of my peers and professors. If I use too many commas but the reader still understands me, does that make me in the wrong?PLEASE REPLY TO THESE SEPARATELY IE NUMBER 1 (100 WORDS ATELEAST) AND NUMBER 2 (100 WORDS ATLEAST) THESE ARE REPLIES SO GIVE THEM EACH A SUGGESTION ON A RESOURCE THEY FIND HELP TO BETTER THEIR WRITING AND AGREE OR DISAGREE.
