Description
DISCUSSION 1-As a public health detective/epidemiologist, you will look at the assigned readings and use research to help you create a risk profile that describes children at risk for exposure to severe trauma. Please include references for any outside sources you use to support your post and refer to the guidelines in the Faculty Expectations message as you prepare your initial posts and responses.
Risk Profile
Risk profiles contain the following elements:
Real-life examples.
Choices are available for those at risk.
How accessible is help or assistance?
Gather as much evidence as you can while creating your risk profile of PTSD/ACEs in children.
Provide an estimate of how many children fit this profile and what these children look like demographically (age, gender, race, culture, socioeconomic status, et cetera).
Include the types of potential biases and/or ethical dynamics that children and family members are likely to encounter when seeking help for PTSD/ACEs.
Indicate where most of the affected population lives: urban, suburban, xurban, small town, or rural.
DISCUSSION 2—In this discussion, shift your focus from PTSD/ACEs and use what you learned in the first discussion in this week to create a risk profile of someone affected by your chosen emerging issue. Remember to follow FEM guidelines as you prepare your post.
