FYRE FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE
INTRODUCTION
▪ Fyre Festival (Nicknamed Frye Fraud) is a classic example of a failed event and the biggest event
fraud in recent times
▪ Founded by Billy McFarland CEO of Fyre Media Inc, and rapper Ja Rule with the sole intent of
promoting the company’s Fyre app for booking music talent
▪ The festival was scheduled to take place from April 28–30 and May 5–7, 2017, on the Bahamian
island of Great Exuma
▪ Based on the above information, articles, and videos about the event, I want you to give your
opinion on FIVE (5) KEY POINTS why the event failed based on the following:

1. The event packages ranged from $500 to $12,000 dollars with the VIP packages offerings included
luxury modern eco-friendly lodging, luxury meals from celebrity chefs, custom VIP-configured Boeing
737 from Miami airport in which none was provided, instead, they were housed in NEMA emergency
tents, served cold sandwiches, and the supposed private jets turned out to be charter planes, with the
traditional economy style seating.
