I also highly recommend you watch The Big Short. It is a great movie and does a good job of covering the economy and the players in the mortgage crisis, with a lot of humor as well.
Discussion Questions: What changed in the residential mortgage business that led to the failure of that market in 2007-2008 and ultimately caused a global crisis? Talk about connections and interactions in the housing market, the mortgage market, and the mortgage-backed securities market. Could this happen again? What safeguards were put in place post-recession and are they sufficient to prevent another one?
