Description
A measure of central tendency is a single value that attempts to describe a set of data by identifying the central position within that set of data. These measurements are used to identify an average score, a range, or a central location. The mean (known as the average) may be the measure of central tendency with which you are most familiar, although there are others.
In this Discussion, you describe the different measures of central tendency and explain how knowing this information will help you as a social worker.
