Scenario
You are a new CIO and the organization you have just joined has slowly added to the overall architecture
for many years. There is now an ad hoc collection of monitoring tools used to keep an eye on the
organization’s critical systems. The downside to this is that it is taking longer to detect issues and there
is a growing fear that a breach could occur and there would be a delay in detecting and responding to
the danger.
You believe it is time to create a NOC with active monitoring and cyber-defenses. You need to create a
plan that shows how the systems can be enabled with active monitoring tools so that real-time data is
received and displayed in the NOC. The NOC needs to be fully capable of accessing all systems and
ensuring policies are always implemented.
For this assignment, you will develop a presentation for the CEO. The presentation should:

Explain the need for a NOC.
•
Discuss and demonstrate how daily management will improve.
•
Discuss and demonstrate how the NOC will increase response to cyberattacks.
•
Include a diagram depicting the plan that you recommend.
The presentation does not need to list every computer used in the organization, but you do need to
include a high-level overview of cloud storage, servers, firewalls, network devices, and traffic
monitoring.
Length: The presentation should be 12–15 slides with 100-150 notes per slide, not including the title
slide and reference slide.
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources.
The completed assignment should address all of the assignment requirements, exhibit evidence of
concept knowledge, and demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the content presented in the course.
The writing should integrate scholarly resources, reflect academic expectations and current APA
standards.
