Assignment Introduction:
In this unit, you have learned about how health disparities and inequities amongst persons belonging to racial and ethnic minority groups, members of the LGBTQ+ community, those with limited English proficiency, persons living with disabilities, those who live in rural communities, and those adversely affected by poverty are chronic and can lead to fatalities within these groups. Discrimination in the healthcare delivery system is one of the prime reasons for health disparities. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 can be used as a resource to aid in averting discrimination and its associated morbidity and mortality outcomes for minority communities and underserved populations.
Let us take this time to demonstrate what you’ve learned. For this assignment, you will demonstrate your accurate understanding of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and its relation to healthcare discrimination. Write a 3-4 page paper (not including the title page and reference page), comparing and contrasting at least three (3) different US States’, territories, or tribal government regulations, policies, on (1) language access in healthcare OR (2) ethnicity, race, national origin in healthcare, with title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Students evaluate 3 state regulations, policies, and/or laws related to Title VI language access OR race, ethnicity, and national origin requirements in healthcare.
Student’s paper is 3-4 pages in length (double spaced), not including title page and reference page.
