Instructions: Please answer the question below. Be sure to address each subpart fully and completely. Organize your answer into sections 1(a), 1(b), 1(c), etc…
1) Assuming unlimited time and resources, and using a deductive approach to research, develop a research design that you think will allow you explain residential burglary. Be sure to clearly explain:
a. your theory (your explanation for residential burglary);
b. your research questions (at least 3);
c. your hypotheses (at least 3), (be sure to specify exactly what it is you want to observe / measure)
d. your sampling approach (specifically name your method of sampling and explain all the details of the who, what, where, and how of your sample), and
e. how you will gather your data / your research design.
f. Make sure to control as much as possible for the threats to the reliability and types of validity for your study (the “rival explanations”). Identify four potential threats to the internal validity of your study and explain how your research design will solve these problems.
g. Explain how the reliability of the study is affected by your choice of research design.
h. Explain why this research is important; for instance, why should anyone care about your results? (Try to place your research in the context of current larger social issues and crime issues.) Are there any social policies that you can see resulting from the results of your research?

i. develop four variables that you would measure in your study, one nominal level, one ordinal level, one interval level, and one ratio level variable. Be clear to explain to me which one is which type.
