Criminal Justice Question

Written Assignment – students shall submit a Writing Assignment (WA) and maintain a passing score in order to pass this course. Papers that are too brief, lack in content, or do not meet grammatical standards will receive a lower grade. Students must properly cite any text (MLA format) taken from another source. Late papers will not be accepted. You have anytime over the next two weeks to turn it in.

The WA is worth 200 points and a minimum of three pages (not including work cited page) and shall address the following points:

Option #1 – Explain one criminal justice topic of interest. You will use the textbook, Internet, and provide an example from a news media outlet – a minimum of three sources. You will cite the sources used on your final page “Work Cited”. Don’t just tell me a story. Critical thinking allows you to research the topic and apply some pros and cons. For example, the death penalty is a topic that many people have passionate opinions on. A student may write a paper arguing for either side.

Or option #2 – Same as above, however you can choose to write about three (3) things you learned this semester that you didn’t know beforehand, that is now of interest to you and why (introduction, 3 topics and conclusion).

How do I get an “A” 90% on my paper? Easy…if you do these five things you will get a 90%. If you do more, for example, two extra pages then you will get more points and possibly a 100%. If you do less, one page and no references and you write about a non-criminal justice topic such as, “basket weaving”, then you lose points…Easy…
1. Turn it in on time
2. Three pages minimum
3. Three references on a work cited page
4. A criminal justice topic of interest
5. Take a side, pro or con or contrast

The Rubric attached gives you an example of the points…

Paper is due December 20th at 1159 PM…

Remember to submit your paper in pdf ONLY…double check your work…do not submit in “pages”.
