Usually Specific aims/objectives can be described in a narrative form (format varies depending on the funder). Objectives should specify a result rather than an activity. Objectives lead to your goal attainment. Use SMART objectives that show results and actions (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timebound). Examples of SMART objective verbs include: increase, decrease, improve, reduce, maintain, establish, develop, provide, train, educate, improve access, build, demonstrate, increase numbers of people, services.
The next step in developing your proposal is to identify goals and objectives. Based on what you learned in this module about writing effective goals and objectives, create the overarching goal and key objectives for your proposed project.
