Discuss the demography, economies, and politics of the Spanish, French, Dutch, or English colonies in North America in the years 1500-1700.
Think critically about life during this time period in the colonies of North America.
Make sure to provide cited information to support your positions. All work must be in APA format. In short, these are some of the things I think are important for you to consider before doing the DB 2.1:
I am looking for:
1. Did they cover the unit, the readings, the videos? Is there evidence of having covered our unit (not googling the prompt) in the writing, citations, and reference list?
2. Are the sources that are used cited when they are used? Did you use in-text citations? Did you use at least one citation for each of the sources listed in your reference list?
3. Is the prompt and all of its parts addressed?
4. Is there a reference list at the end of your initial post that includes all of the sources that you utilized, including those from our unit?
5. Did they communicate with others on the DB during the unit to further understand?

In Unit 1, we focused on the first contact between Europeans and inhabitants of North America. From the culture of the original inhabitants of the Americas to the impact of European contact on the Native Americans’ way of life and the global economy, and the history of the United States (before it is the “United States”) finding its roots in humankind’s’ desire for adventure and power. This becomes evident as Europe develops permanent settlements in “discovered” lands, usurping those who came before them…
In Unit 2, our study of the era of colonial development continues as we take a more focused look into the English colonies and how the geography of America affects the social, economic, and political development of the country. From the distinct differences between the New England, Middle, and Southern colonies to England’s attempt to rule from afar, the colonies will develop their own identity, paving the road to Revolution and self-determination.
