Unit 9 Assignment: Final Project — Conditions for Probation or Parole
Write a 5- to 7-page paper analyzing what conditions determine if an offender will be given probation or parole. Base your analysis on your state. Research your state’s statutes or legal requirements, and use this information to support your positions.
Utilizing the Library, locate and use a minimum of two outside credible sources to support your analysis. Include a summary of how you located the sources (types of search terms, choice of databases) and how you evaluated the credibility of the sources used.
In your paper, discuss the following:
What are the administrative responsibilities of probation and parole caseloads?
What are the classifications of probation and parole caseloads?
What factors might influence the decisions of the parole board, if your state has one?
Who sits on the parole board, and how are they placed in that role?
Discuss the role/job of parole and probation officers beyond their administrative responsibilities.
Provide examples to support your position.
Format your work consistent with APA formatting for references and citations.
