Write a policy brief that follows the formatting guidelines below. You may write your brief for any professional engaged in health policy or politics. This could include a politician, a regulator, an insurance executive, etc. Pick your topic from the list of ‘hot topics’ available at the ASTHO website at:

Apply analytical skills to the assessment of proposed or actual outcomes for a health policy change. Your brief must include the following:
Introduction
A description of the problem being addressed
A description of the policy, including content about at least three policy elements, e.g., costs, what the policy requires or who / what agency would implement the policy
A description of the actual or proposed policy change(s)
An analysis of the impact or proposed impact of the actual or proposed policy change(s)
You may discuss policy outcomes such as an increase in health equity, a decrease in the cost of care, a change in access to care, a decrease in the number of people affected by a disease, etc.
You may also include actual or proposed outcomes related to politics
