Description
CJ Graduate Program Writing Assignment: You are required to write a graduate essay using a (minimum of 550-word count ) in APA style format and guidelines for writing. In this essay, you will explain in detail the following questions below. 1. Why you would make a good candidate? I’m a firm believer in equality across the board, doing the right thing even when no one’s looking. I’m very sociable, versatile, and a quick learner. I’m also a very outspoken, strong-minded critical thinker and I love to discuss/debate issues concerning different law topics such as high-profile cases, federal, state, and local legislative lawmaking processes, and judiciary rulings. I enjoy watching crime TV shows like First 48, Dateline, Criminal Minds, CSI Snapped, and ID Live. 2. What are your plans for your CJ Masters Degree? I want to practice criminal law and become a criminal defense attorney because I would like to be a voice/ advocate for the less fortunate & underprivileged minority groups. In addition, I have a deep-seated desire to help revamp our broken outdated justice system by changing the lawmaking process and lengthy sentencing guidelines. Lastly, I would work to prohibit big corporations from having private-owned federal/ state penitentiaries and correctional institutions. I feel this would be beneficial to both sides because it would break the cycle of mass incarceration, back-logged cases, wrongful convictions, and not to mention other pressing issues. *Remember to use correct grammar, punctuation, and a 550-word count minimum. Also, I highly recommend that students put an adequate amount of time and effort into this particular essay because its contents will be reviewed very thoroughly and it is the final deciding factor for acceptance into the program. Good luck to you all!
