Description
After conducting the needs assessment, you should have a better idea of how your capstone project will serve the organization you have chosen. In this assignment, you will formalize your project in a 750-1,000-word paper that includes the following:A brief description of the scope and purpose identified in the needs analysis. An outline of your action plan.Identification of any unique organizational factors, including resources and barriers that could impact your project.Leadership theories and concepts that you will apply as part of your capstone.Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide,

The bridging program for the Mentorship Action Plan
Introduction
Closing educational gaps between working adults is certainly a praiseworthy approach
that targets the changing employment requirements of current times. Bridging the Mentorship
Action Plan (MAP) is the main goal of this proposed capstone project. It will be implemented
and developed to help individuals with associate’s degrees or at least 55 credits complete their
bachelor’s degrees. This project, essentially, is a response to the growing call for attainable and
flexible higher education ladders by allowing adult learners to reach beyond their goals to the
highest level in academia and profession.
Scope and Purpose
This project intends to foster an educational continuation process for adults working aged
at least 20 years old and who have either a professional degree or completed at least 55 credits.
The initiative serves the purpose of reducing the duration in which individuals applying for the
bachelor’s degree complete the program by setting up a rigorous yet accessible night class that is
done Monday to Saturday between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. This plan is not only about using
enrollment numbers to the institution’s advantage but also as an avenue for students to go
uneconomical in their academic progress and career goals.
Needs Analysis Tool/Template and Rationale
The SWOT analysis tool is all-inclusive for determining different variables that can affect
a project’s outcome, making it particularly convenient for conducting a needs assessment for the
capstone project. The SWOT analysis thoroughly reviews the internal and external factors that
could be a barrier or help implement the bridging program (Puyt et al., 2023). The internal team
3
can pinpoint and maximize the strengths through SWOT analysis, including the existing
qualified staff, effective infrastructure, and specialized partnerships. At the same time, it detects
the weakest links in human and financial resources, the staff capacity gap, and outdated
technology that are crucial to pay attention to so that you can have a successful project.
External (interest) analysis facilitates the discovery of what would be used to bring into
the bridging program. For example, emerging educational trends, government funding programs,
or collaborations with partners in the industry can improve the effectiveness of the bridging
program (Wen et al., 2024). Additionally, it helps to reveal the risks, for instance, regulatory
changes, the new competing programs, or job replacements that possibly can prevent the project
from being achieved. Overall, after the SWOT analysis, the project team will have an
opportunity to create informed strategies that will depend on the pros and cons of the project and
the diversification of risks, increasing the possibility of project implementation.
Summary of Findings
The SWOT analysis revealed several key findings:
Strengths: The program’s cleverly designed schedule meets the demands of careeroriented adults, providing them with a faster track to degree completion. Hence, it is attractive
for those who want to upgrade their career while taking care of other responsibilities. The MAP
connection implementation is thus vital as it provides an inclusive community and a student
network that will strengthen collaboration and enable a rewarding learning experience.
Weaknesses: The busy timetable might hurt the students trying to incorporate
professional and family life with their study experience, so they risk exhausting themselves or
decreasing their academic results. Importantly, the effectiveness of this program rests largely on
4
the availability of enough resources and faculty members, which may be inefficient if they are
needed in high enrollment periods.
Opportunities: A market has been developed where adult education programs with
flexible class times and shorter degree completion spans are available. Therefore, the program
can have a variety of students. Partnering with community organizations and the business
community could multiply the enrollment figures and enhance the number of student resources
and the program’s overall effectiveness.
Threats: Online programs offered by other institutions and standardized programs of
other institutions pose competition for enrollment. This requires the program to individualize
through unique offerings and become an institution of choice. Furthermore, the effects of
economic crises or a change in the job market could disallow students to pay for the program or
attend it regularly. It makes the educational institution prepared for possible fluctuations in
enrollment.
Conclusion
To conclude, the proposed capstone project presents a strategic initiative to bridge the
educational gap for working adults, offering a tangible solution to the challenges faced by nontraditional students in completing their bachelor’s degrees. The SWOT analysis conducted as part
of the needs assessment underscores the project’s potential to address a critical need within the
educational sector while highlighting areas requiring careful planning and resource allocation.
By addressing these considerations, the capstone project can significantly contribute to its
participants’ academic and professional growth, benefiting both the individuals involved and the
broader community.
