Consider the question of what a human is. Why is such a question important for the field
of business?

serve the common good.” If the program successfully meets its mission, how will such
individuals make the world a better place?
Does the field of business have a duty to change to serve humans better? Why or why
not?

Second Assignment (Business Strategies):
Purpose: The Human Flourishing Paper allows students to analyze current literature on
human flourishing.
Directions: Students should consider the following questions when completing the
human flourishing paper assignment:
1. How is human flourishing defined?
2. Should organizations be concerned with human flourishing internally and externally?
3. In today’s world, do consumers care about human flourishing, or is price still the
essential factor in the consumer buying decision?
4. Are our stockholders and other stakeholders genuinely concerned about human
flourishing, or is the profit maximization model of business still the most desired model
based on the behavior of stock and stakeholders?
5. Do organizations that embrace human flourishing and offer such things as a living
wage do better than those that embrace the for-profit maximization model?
6. Does the current literature identify prominent business models beyond the profit
maximization model?
Requirements: Provide an in-depth/concise analysis. The paper should include an
introduction, a foundational body of knowledge (more in-depth analysis of the specific
strategies and approaches discussed), and a solid conclusion (also provide a specific and
actionable recommendation or call to action). Be mindful of vocabulary and grammar.
Provide a specific thesis statement for the argument. The paper should be organized and
structured. The foundational body should consider the guiding questions noted above
and be labeled. This assignment aims to create a precise analysis; paper lengths should
be 5 to 6 pages and 10 sources. APA 7.
