Read the following scenario and complete the tasks given below:
The United Kingdom is the largest source of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Oman, accoun ng for approximately 51.1 percent
of total FDI received by the country. In Q1 of 2023 alone, the gure increase by more than 44 percent in comparison to the same
period in 2022. The economic and commercial rela ons between India and Oman are robust and buoyant. Bilateral trade during
FY 2020-2021 at USD 5.4432 billion. Bilateral trade for the year 2021- 2022 reached US $ 9.988 billion and for the year
2022-2023 (Apr – Jan) reached US $ 10.659 billion.
The student is required to:
a. Maintain a digital le / journal / scrapbook of economic news to cover the Oman’s Foreign Trade in the last 10 years and
highlight suppor ve measures ini ated by the Government.
Secondary data must be collected from academic sources of literature (OECD, IMF & Interna onal Trade Administra on etc.,)
b. A minimum of (10) data items should be a ached along with the source and date. Relevant interpreta on should be wri en
with a clear understanding of the economic inferences and implica on of the news.
c. The digital news journal should be submi ed as an a achment to a wri en report.
d. You are required to write a report of 1500 words based on the ndings concluded from the collected news. In the report you
should relate the concluded ndings to your knowledge of the macroeconomics concepts and to the interna onal economic
