Hello Professor and class,
A good mentoring system for international assignee’s are to provide support, resources, and guidance to them during their transition into a new country. This is to help them develop the skills deemed necessary to succeed and allow them to enhance their overall job performance, engagement, and job satisfaction. A good mentoring system can also help retain assignee’s and ensure that they continue contributing successfully within with the organization. Mentoring activities should include regular and consistent communication between the assignee and the mentor, guiding them with cultural norms, business practices, and assisting in setting career goals as well as developing skills to achieve them. A good mentor for international assignee’s should understand their role, culture, business practices, strong communication skills, and a strong ability to have patience because the assignee may face some difficult challenges adapting as well as the possibility of getting frustrated as they attempt to navigate in their new role and environment. A good mentor should also execute a strong interest, commitment and a professional desire to see the assignee grow and develop. In conclusion, a good mentoring system for international assignee’s should overall support, and guide assignee’s during their transition.
