Format: Create a .doc, .docx. or .pdf paper with a title. Each reflection should be at least 2 full pages in Times New Roman or Calibri, 12 point font, 1” margins. Your header should be in the upper left-hand corner, single-spaced with your name, class, instructor name, and date. The body of your paper should be double-spaced with left-hand alignment. Include page numbers in the lower right-hand corners. Do not include the question prompts in your paper. Number your responses; but keep the alignment flush left (remove auto numbering feature). Be sure to cite your textbook or other required source using 7th edition APA in-text and include a reference list.
Writing and Terminology: Use proper grammar, spelling, sentence construction, etc. Use specific relational communication terminology from class; you are expected to know these terms. Each reflection will correspond to specific course concepts (see prompts), so be sure you are using them correctly. Use terms from previous weeks, demonstrating your understanding of how topics relate to each other. Bold all course terms throughout your reflections.
Reflection and Self-disclosure: You may be asked to complete communication scales and measurements, which rely on self-report strategies. To complete these tasks and reap the most benefits from these activities, you will need to be as honest as possible. You may be asked to provide examples from your life and to reflect on your personal beliefs, attitudes, values, and practices. The more you wholeheartedly approach these tasks the better your reflections will be, the more you will get out of the experience, and the more you will learn. You do not have to disclose anything about yourself, or your past, that makes you uncomfortable. Please only choose reflection prompts that you can most fully engage with and meet the page requirements.
