Assessment Description
Previously, you located three potential viable solutions for a problem or issue in a school building or district. Educators must be able to evaluate the potential solutions and make reasoned recommendations to school administration and/or school boards. In this assignment, you will explore the ethical implications of the potential solutions you identified in your previous assignment, and you will make a recommendation for a course of action.
General Requirements:
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:
Refer to the revised problem statement and the list of viable solutions from your Topic 4 assignment.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments. The APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.
Refer to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association for specific guidelines related to doctoral level writing. The Manual contains essential information on manuscript structure and content, clear and concise writing, and academic grammar and usage.
This assignment requires that at least two additional scholarly research sources related to this topic, and at least one in-text citation from each source be included.
You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is located in Class Resources if you need assistance.
Directions:
Review the list of viable solutions and the related rationales you presented in the previous assignment, and consider the feedback provided by the instructor.
Write a paper (3,000-3,200 words) in which you narrow the list to two viable solutions, discuss the ethical implications of each solution, and make a clear statement of which solution you believe will best address the problem or issue identified. Your decisions must be supported with appropriate current (within the last 3 years) or foundational, peer reviewed, and professional research including the instructor feedback from your Topic 4 assignment. In your paper, include the following:
A final, single-sentence problem statement. What is not working? What should be improved?
A research-based discussion of and rationale for the two solutions you believe to be the most viable for addressing the problem or issue presented. Why are these solutions the most viable to address the problem or issue? Why is the third solution you considered now seen to be less viable than these? (Benchmarks C4.2: Produce scholarly academic writing.)
A research-based discussion of the ethical implications of the remaining potential solutions.
Your research-supported recommendation for a solution to implement from the two potential solutions you described above and a rationale for the chosen recommendation. Why do you believe this is ultimately the best option to address the problem or issue? How will this improve teaching and learning in your school building or district?
