Description
PromptThis module covers time and motion as we wrap up the discussion of the art elements. We are reminded that art is not just painting and sculpture. Photography, film, video, and digital animation–once futuristic technologies–are all considered art forms today. Did you know that many contemporary art museums have film curators? Even general art museums are featuring the movie industry. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to see Animating Life: Laika Studios at the Portland Art Museum. Laika Studios is known for The Boxtrolls and Coraline, among others. In San Diego, Comic-Con has become a global cultural destination and now, Balboa Park is home to the Comic-Con Museum! For this discussion, imagine yourself a film historian. If you could recommend one film to belong in the permanent collection of your local art museum, what would it be and why?
