Description
Presentation Proposal
1. Choose a contemporary piece of art that you find interesting. Try to choose a piece from a local artist or that is located locally—it does not have to be well-known. (It doesn’t have to be local. If there is a non-local artist/artwork you are really interested in, that would be fine too.)
2. Write a title page. This should include a preliminary title for your talk, your name, student ID, and email address.
3. Write the basic information about the artwork. This should include a picture of the work (you do not have to take the picture yourself, although you can if you want), the work’s name, the artist, the date, and where the work is located. If any of this information is not available, you must still include it. For instance: ‘Artist: Unknown/anonymous’ or ‘Location: Unknown’.
4. Write 250 words about why you have chosen this piece. This can include, but is not limited to, a brief explanation of the work (artistic category, history, etc), why you find the work interesting, why you think it would be good to do a philosophical analysis of the work.
The proposal does not have to be theoretical or philosophical in any deep sense. It is just an explanation of why you have chosen the work
Note: Try to make sure that the information is presented clearly.
