Semester 2 (Spring 2023/2024)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Students are encouraged to submit a research paper, surveying a particular topic of their choice that
is related to the class’s topics. The research paper should be written individually following the
IEEE conference format (template uploaded on Teams). The maximum number of pages is 8 and it
should NOT be less than 4 pages, excluding references. The paper you write must be written to
evaluate existing solutions to the problem you are trying to survey/review. The survey means the
paper is written to summarizes and organizes recent research results in a novel way that integrates
and adds understanding to work in the field. So we expect you to have a novel categorization of the
existing solutions in the literature.
Discuss your proposal with your instructor before writing the research paper.
What is required and IMPORTANT DATES
1. A proposal of your research project submitted before Feb 24th 2024 to the course instructor
on Teams (You will receive approve/disapproval of your proposal within three days from
your submission.)
2. A final paper, and Turnitin plagiarism clearance. This will be on May 17th, 2024, and the
instructor needs to see that you made a meaningful effort in your research paper to be
accepted.
3. The final paper MUST be submitted in PDF format.
