Description
This issue paper project will be completed individually. Identify an ethical issue involving technology in a field/sector you’re interested and/or have worked in. Use real life examples, and incorporate concepts discussed in sessions 1 and 3 of month two (Ethics). Identify and analyze the issue in terms of bureaucracy, politics and ethics and explain why the issue has not been resolved or presents conflict. Propose a potential solution that addresses relevant factors and addresses the advantages and disadvantages of your proposal. Potential topics could include the following sectors: military/security, law enforcement, national security, healthcare, education, finance, research and development, or anything else.
Deadlines:
Submit final issue paper by March 9, 2024. Maximum 4 pages, including any diagrams.
Issue paper will be graded using the following criteria:
Meeting minimum requirements designated in assignment description
Thoughtfulness of content, raising new points or examples rather than simply repeating those from class, and clearly articulating your opinion
Clear communication style, effectively conveying main points and logic
Tailoring your message to your audience (using language all classmates will understand, defining terms when necessary) (audience will be your instructor, Assistant, and your classmates)
Presentation (professional looking paper and graphics)
Spelling/grammar to professional standards
